About Raigarh

Raigarh, situated in northern Chhattisgarh, is fondly known as the "Cultural Capital of Chhattisgarh" or Sanskritidhani. The city is celebrated for its vibrant cultural heritage, especially the classical dance form “Suwa” of the Raigarh Gharana. It is also a prominent centre for classical music, showcasing the region’s rich artistic traditions. Adding to its cultural identity is the production of therenowned Kosa silk and its historical significance as the location of one of India’s oldest jute mills.
